Eco Effect Objectives:
Eco Effect's mission is realized through five educational topics on healthy people, renewable energy, fruitful vegetation, clean air and water, and a protected planet. FON and its ambassadors are actively in the community, schools and other organizations promoting environmental stewardship with the green team.
Eco Effect will be a platform to entertain solutions to the challenges and help Hawaiians address our local energy crisis. Over time, Eco Effect is expected become one of most used go to media guide for resources, knowledge base, a reliable source for products and services for Native Hawaiians and residents. With a full house of daily presentations at NELHA, it is evident that there is a vast interest from residents and visitors in understanding the solutions and available resources. Eco Effect on KHON2, is in effect, an exponential exposure beyond the reach of the Gateway at NELHA.
Long-term Goals:
As Eco Effect expands over the broadcast waves, it will become a reliable resource for helping the state achieve its goals for renewable energy and independence from fossil fuels. Over the past 10 years NELHA has been on the trajectory of leading the charge when it comes to a sustainable Hawaii and energy self sufficiency. The Eco Effect project is another way FON is achieving its education and outreach goals.
